Based on Wyrtki's (1961, 1962) algorithms as discussed in Wilde (1987) OCEANIC VELOCITY FROM STATION DATA CALCULATOR 'Mean' velocity with depth between two hydrographic stations making the depth of no motion assumption and applying the Helland-Hansen equation. Values obtained using the specific volume algorithm instread of using conventional look-up tables.
